Network Security as the component of media education
Abstract: Media literacy is defined as the key to understanding social reality, because to a large extent the media are a reflection and create attitudes, and even views. One of the elements of media education is to develop skills attitudes related to the use of cyberspace and to understand the processes, the situation in the place. The information society requires an appropriate message on the Internet, but often this is limited to technical skills, not awareness of how to safely use the network and move around in the virtual world. The lowest awareness on this issue are children and youth who uncritically utilize network resources without noticing the dangers that may lurk when you are in the network. The article discusses the challenges of media education in the field of network security, risks associated with the use of the Internet, media pedagogy and education to the safe use of the Internet. The author tries to point out shortcomings of education in schools and the way of cooperation with schools, which will optimize the effects of teaching media education on the safe use of cyberspace.
Smartfon as a designer gadget
Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the smartphone as a multifunctional and socially desired object, which implements the following trends in design:
– miniaturization useful arts,
– advanced technology friendly to use,
– combination of technology lifestyle,
– building identity and distinctiveness of the consumer.
The penetration of smartphones in Poland and in the world from year to year increases in enormous pace. In 2015, 58% of Poles had smartphones (report Poland is the MOBI 2015). These figures demonstrate the continuous growth in demand for smart phones, which signifi cantly affects the development of this area of the market. Smartphones differ due to the many issues that have been presented in the text. Technological progress of these devices revealed in the miniaturization of their thickness towards maximizing the usable space. Another notable development is the desire of designers to facilitate the relationship and communication between the hardware and the user, which can be equated with the phenomenon of society pictorial aesthetics and haptics. The emphasis on the mobility of smartphones, and many personalization options for these items are aspects through which the design of these gadgets become socialized. The Prestige smartphones at every level is closely connected with wealth. Innovation is a high price. Sometimes, unfortunately, fear of the inability of the smartfonowymi trends revealed obselitofobią, who also would like to mention. This paper is a part of the forthcoming dissertation on the social life of the smartphone.
Social media in the process of building civil society in Lublin
Abstract: Implementation of the policy of participatory management of the city includes the active involvement of citizens in the processes of co-decision. The involvement of the residents in the policy of urban space development gains more and more recognition among the local authority regulating the rules of cooperation with the citizens in the local and national law. Implementation of new communication tools is a response to social needs, as results of social needs and made them used by the residents. Natural stage communication process has to incorporate social media into a dialogue with the residents.
Below I present an analysis of social media and the role they play a in the process of building civil society Lublin. In this article I will present the media used by the City of Lublin in communicating with residents, the role of social media in this process and the level of social involvement in the communication process with the use of Facebook.
Looking at the city as a place for the realisation of the residents’ needs, one cannot overlook the instruments for their implementation. Every city builds its own code of activity. The success of the residents in the realisation of their projects equals the success of the authorities in the implementation of the participatory city management policy.
Social Media – the new space of science
Abstract: Internet and modern technologies has introduced permanent changes in many areas of human life. The process of acquiring knowledge does not look today the same as it did few decades ago. The widely understood world of science also has undergone transformations. Virtualization of various aspects of scientific institutions activity, as well as partial migration of scientific researches to the Internet, forced scientists to adapt to the new tools – the new media. The article is an attempt to characterize the presence of science in social media. Social networks are both research field and tool. In this area operate both academic institutions and independent researchers, often young people not affiliated with any university. Social media are both a new tool for institutional communication and also the space of connective and collective work of Internet users, who, under the new social rhetoric of gratuitousness, selflessly promote learning.
For whom the museum? „Digital natives” and „digital immigrants” in multimedia space of the museum
Abstract: The aim of the article is to show the multimedia spaces of the museum, which become more and more popular ways to present the past. This new trend in museum science has two reasons. First is the development of new media. Second is the change among the museum visitors, who want to gain a lot of attractions in one place and in a short time. Museum has to adjust to the market needs and also compete with quasi-museums. That is why they propose multimedia exhibitions, which engage senses and provide not only knowledge, but also entertainment. The article also presents two types of museum visitors, called by M. Prensky ”digital natives” and ”digital immigrants”. First type treats new technologies as necessary part of everyday life. Second type is often offish to the newest technology achievments.
Writers of the children’s fiction – their role in the forming of attitudes from deliberations about the friendship
Abstract: Evoked values in work addressed to the young recipient are meeting the needs of the moral, cognitive, social, ethical nature among others well understandable – aesthetic. Writers creating works for children and teenagers are revealing the truth about the life, moral dilemmas and the solitude of the man. Authors of children’s books are provoking the reflective thinking of the reader, deepening his knowledge about oneself, world and other people in the process. In the present text the main theme constitutes the issue of the attitude which is developing within the friendship. Writers, writing works for the young recipient, are directing the linguistic announcement which simultaneously is a transmitter of specific values in their work. Into literary works values which refer for bringing up the process of teaching the value are written down. It is possible to accept proposals of attitudes prose writers writing for children and poets are including which in their works, or to oppose to them. Probably however it isn’t possible to stay in view of contents come across in the children’s fiction indifferent.
Journalism education in Latvia
Abstract: The author led whole semester lectures in Ventspils University College in Latvia in the field of “Media Communication in a Multicultural Environment” and in practice getting acquainted with the media and journalism education system in Latvia. The article describes ways of journalism vocational teaching and didactic innovations in Latvia on the example of Ventspils University College.
Abstract: Istnieją różne rodzaje narzędzi ułatwiających przeprowadzanie procesów obliczeniowych. Przez tysiące lat człowiek rozbudowywał i udoskonalał je, aby sięgnąć po coraz bardziej złożone operacje, mogące pomóc odkryć złożoność świata. Historia tych narzędzi jest związana z umiejętnością wizualizacji, kategoryzacją, a także hierarchizacją bytów i definiowaniem relacji znajdujących się między nimi. Część z tych narzędzi posiada filozoficzne korzenie, inne natomiast mogły pojawić się dopiero poprzez wytworzenie konkretnych narzędzi matematycznych. Tekst ten poświęcony jest zagadnieniu początków współczesnych ontologii w rozumieniu informatycznym od pierwszych urządzeń ułatwiających liczenie, poprzez te, które pozwalały wizualizować relacje między obiektami, aż do ich połączenia wspartego rozwojem technologicznym.
