Szkocja – stare siły zbrojne w nowym państwie

Od roku 2011 Szkocka Partia Narodowa prowadzi działania zmierzające do wystąpienia Szkocji ze Zjednoczonego Królestwa. Artykuł przedstawia koncepcje SNP i kolejnych rządów szkockich w dziedzinie polityki obronnej, odpowiadając na pytania, jaką rolę kwestie obronności odgrywają w ich planach oraz, czy realizacja tych planów umożliwi Szkocji zbudowanie sił zbrojnych dostosowanych do długofalowej polityki zagranicznej tego państwa, zmieniającej się sytuacji międzynarodowej oraz nowych zagrożeń.

SCOTLAND: OLD–FASHIONED ARMED FORCES FOR A NEW STATE

Since its victory in the 2011 Scottish Parliament election, the Scottish National Party has made serious efforts with the aim of gaining full independence for Scotland. This article presents plans of the SNP in the field of Scotland’s defense policy, seeking answers to the question of importance of such a policy for the SNP and also to the question whether the SNP plans would allow to create armed forces suitable for Scotland’s foreign policy and ever-changing international environment.
