THE PHENOMENON OF myth is characteristic for all human communities, regardless of their cultural diversity and historical moment. The things that make the myth are the needs that it satisfies and features that it meets. The concept of the myth can not be used to determine the truth or to deny the phenomenon, because for his followers it is always true. Compliance with the facts and the reality in case of discussion is secondary. One could say that the myth is defined by the function it performs in the political life and in consciousness. In this article the authors focused on thinking, perception and organization of knowledge about the presidential plane crash. Since the tragedy “the 10th of April” has become indelible a source of metaphysical questions and the answer to them can only be found in the mythological order (by reference to the unconditional realities). Considerations presented in this article refer to the mythical qualities of consciousness described by Ernst Cassirer, including the role of the emotional factor, perception of time and space, the search for ritual “scapegoat”, the specific treatment of causality, thinking according to the principle of post hoc ergo poster hoc, pars pro toto.
