DEFINING LIMITS OF political science’s and its relations with social science is extraordinary complex task. Not only does it require constant variance analysis but also detailed analysis of similarities between mentioned fields. Moreover it is required to place them in wider perspective of social sciences. Following article depicts thesis regarding reciprocal influence of political and social science on identity of sciences in politics. Relations between social and political science have been provided in compound form, including application of appropriate methodological tools or definitions of terms used in mentioned subject field. Analysis results indicate beyond any dispute that political science is interdisciplinary science. It has ability of combining elements of diverse subject fields from particular areas; therefore we may state that it is able to provide comprehensive answers to questions regarding reciprocal influence in changing reality. Political science in combination with social science but also with other ”traditional” disciplines is not in danger of being blurred and what follows losing touch with its own identity.
