THE ARTICLE FOCUSES on contemporary problems of correspondence voting. Correspondence voting belongs to the most important stages of electoral process. There are different categories of voters who are allowed to vote by post. Correspondence voting may concern certain kind of election or all kind of elections. The voters could get permission for correspondence voting for certain election, certain period of time or without time limit. Detailed procedures of correspondence voting as well as its origin and practice in the world are presented. Among others new tendencies in correspondence voting in sphere of legal regulations and practice (bigger and bigger percentage of voters who vote by post) are included. Special attention is drawn to advantages and disadvantages of correspondence voting. Further part of article concerns Poland and possibility of introduction of correspondence voting in the context of growing enforce absenteeism during the elections. The legal attempts of introducing such kind of voting were analysed and subjected to criticism. Author took a position on public debate on the above mentioned topic.
