Stanley Baldwin’s foreign policy in the light of reports of Polish post in London in the years 1935–1937

THE AIM OF the article is to present British foreign policy in Baldwin’s term of office (7 June 1935–25 May 1937) in the light of Polish diplomatic sources. The article describes EnglishItalian relations with regard to Abyssinian problem as well as English-German correlation in which we can observe London concessions for the benefit of Berlin and variable EnglishSoviet relations. The article provides an account of British foreign policy to Poland and her attitude towards Poland’s important matters. Moreover there are information about English relationship with: Japan, Egypt and her dominions, especially with Irish Free State. British foreign policy in Baldwin’s term of office was typified by larger and larger concessions to Italy and Germany. These two countries, encouraged by English yielding attitude, alongside with Japan, started to expand their claims what resulted in an outbreak of World War II.
