ALMOST THREE DECADES have passed since the first Green Parties emerged in western Europe, yet in Poland authors concerned with political parties and party system have not taken interest in the matter. Apart from a few exceptions, it is impossible to find a valuable Polish discourse entirely devoted to the European Green Parties. The published articles usually include Green Parties in the existing party system, however they do not devote to them enough attention. It is not the author’s wish to fill in that gap, the paper’s topic and length do not allow it. The article presents the history, structure, financing and program evolution of the Finish Green Party. The main focus is on the Party’s position in the country’s electoral market. All the elections, parliamentary, presidential, municipal and to the European Parliament, since 1983 till the present day have been thoroughly discussed, whereas the elections in which either the Green Party participated or strongly supported candidates have been stressed. The article is enhanced with tables and diagrams which make the paper clear and comprehensible. In the end, the author sums up and draws interesting conclusions based on the mentioned data.
