Journal

Azja-Pacyfik (Asia-Pacific,  AP in short) is a biannual journal published in Poland regularly since 1998. It is the most prominent academic periodical in Poland devoted to the study of the Asia-Pacific region. Our journal focuses primarily on political, economic and social issues in the region, but we also welcome articles covering cultural and religious topics.

The founder and the long time Editor-in-Chief of the Journal was Professor Krzysztof Gawlikowski (1940-2021) from the Polish Academy of Science and the SWPS University, who was also founder of the Asia-Pacific Society, closely linked to the periodical. Other previous Editors-in-Chief include Professor Bogdan Góralczyk, and Professor Józef Pawłowski. Since its beginning, the journal has been published by the Adam Marszałek Publishing House in Toruń.

AP has been primarily a Polish-language journal for most of its history, but in recent years we have been gradually including more English-language research articles, hence scholars and researchers from other countries are invited to contribute with manuscripts in English. Our ambition is to share new, original research on the Asian region that meets the highest scholarly standards with  a wider academic audience, as well as to help internationalize research from Poland and the Central and East European region.

This website contains all past issues of AP in PDF format in Open Access.

We welcome cooperation from scholars of Asia all over the world, both from the region and outside of it!
