Periodic rituals as a tool for the integration of the political system after the May coup

After the May Coup Piłsudzki began the transformation of the political system in the direction of authoritarian solutions. Due to the lack of ideology, and also the need of public participation in political life, it was necessary to create mechanisms for the integration of the political system. The best tools for this purpose were periodic rituals – skillfully made by the ruling camp. They connect citizens between themselves and with government representatives . Analyzing the problems discussed in the pages of newspapers connected with sanacia, we can see the life cycles defining events in the Second Republic. These included name day of Jozef Pilsudski (19 March), Independence Day (November 11) and parliamentary elections. At that moments compeers of Piłsudski mobilized the whole society to work together, celebrate together, and seemingly involve in the public life of the country. Outside of these moments the system was free from political mobilization. The journalists analyzed the situation of Polish, mentioned merit and urged to be active.

Although the headlines showed very solemn, glamour celebration of name day of Pilsudski and Independence Day, they were a unique event. Besides poems, memories, articles glorify Marshall and distinguished soldiers in the fight for independence, there was no opportunity for the active participation of citizens in the celebrations. Except these individuals who laid flowers and take part in the official ceremony in Warsaw, the people accompanied apathy and lack of commitment. The most exciting period of political life however were elections. In this period appeared many articles analyzing and criticizing politics and party’s activity in Poland. Otherwise the elections time political life was relatively calm, sometimes disturbed by occasional ventures.

Conservative party under Austrian rule against the Ukrainian Galicia, on the eve of World War I (1913–1914)

The text was submitted to the action to be taken by the governing conservative country on the eve of the outbreak of the World War I. The main problem was to reform the electoral law to parliament. Among conservatives prevailed in this case big difference. While Krakow conservatives were in favor of reform and related concessions to the Ukrainians, their East-Galician countrymen have in this case the opposite opinion. The author writes that this issue dominated also the campaign for the national parliament in 1913. The new chamber resumed negotiations on the issue. Finally, just before the outbreak of war reform was adopted. Unfortunately, the relations had already been so strained that the adopted draft has failed to appease them. At the end of his discussion the author concludes that the events of the years 1913–1914 were one of the main reasons that led to the outbreak of bloody Polish-Ukrainian war of 1918–1919.

Support of the European Union for Roma in Poland

Forms of support for Roma in Poland coming from the European Union revolve mainly around the projects under the Human Capital Operational Programme and on the basis of the Community Initiative Equal Programme. Among the realized projects the special place is occupied by these concerned with the fight against unemployment and with the support of education among the Roma minority.

The projects, implemented throughout the years, provide a chance to change the perception of the Roma minority by the society. For the opportunity to participate in a holistic educational process and open access to the labour market seem to be the only way to improve the existing living standards.

The advantage of the projects which certainly cannot be overlooked is the fact that the proposed aid enables a change in living conditions of entire Roma families, while respecting their culture, customs and traditions. For only in this way an improvement of the living conditions of the Roma people and a gradual integration with the rest of the society are possible.

The transition of the Kyrgyz economy to the market system required fundamental development of a series of new scientific and practical spheres. Privatization process, emergence of the stock market, development of insurance system, transfer of commercial banks to issuing loans in the security of property, all these facts form the necessity for a new service – the company valuation, determination of its market cost of capital. There are specific urgent questions of fundamental works’ transformation, related to this direction, into the practical angle and adaptation of existing theoretical elaborations in the field of company cost capital determination to the appraiser’s practical activity under the existing conditions of still forming professional services market. One of the issues of vital importance is an unsatisfied requirement in determination of market cost of capital of a company. In order to assess the value of the enterprise fairly, the author has defined the object of investigation, that is Open Joint Stock Company “Maili – Suu Electric Bulb Factory” – the largest in the Central Asian region factory, producing more than 100 types of electric incandescent lamp for premises.Basing upon a series of preliminary studies and analyzes, the author has concluded that, the most acceptable way in enterprise valuation is cost-based approach.

As experiences have shown, enterprise valuation methods based upon on cost of property, currently implemented in our country, are not perfect, because they actually assess the cost of property’s formation. Investor is primarily concerned with future earnings rather than the necessary cost of object formation, although the estimation of business enterprises only on the basis of future earnings may also be incorrect. Consequently, it is quite understandable the kind of necessities to assess business enterprise on the basis of multilateral integrated approach: with relation to cost for building creating, its future profitability and capital sales prices of similar businesses in the market.

Problems with the systematizing the internal stratification of peasantry

Sources of research and subject literature do not give a clear picture of differentiation of the peasantry in terms of financial status. The problem concerns both the amount of property owned by them (land and livestock) and place in the hierarchy. This fact is very much difficult, sometimes even impossible to study the layers of peasant and any generalizations about it. It seems that the only possible way to study the most populous state in the Republic is to track individual fates of individual units that make it possible not precise enough to qualify for the category of the peasantry, but observe the changes taking place in the financial status over time and associated with the action taken.

Agreements of the life estate as the form of financial protecting the noblewoman in the old Poland

In the old Poland a lot of necessary documents were being drawn up during the contracting marriage. One of them it was providing for oneself the mutual life estate which it meant, that after death of one of spouses, second, could receive his wealth all the way to his death. It wasn't possible however to sell goods passed for this purpose, to exchange or to rent, if were these are real estates. The life estate expired along with the death of the user or in the moment, when the widower or the widow decided on the next married couple. They were executing, the recalled recording, of the following day after the marriage ceremony or after a few weeks. The life estate constituted the financial security above all for the woman, because especially to the widow, it gave the material stability and the personal independence.

EU financial perspective 2007–2013 and the directions of development of the community policies

The progressive process of European integration has shaped and developed the policy of the European Community. The structural policy meant the Community intervention in the economic structures of the Member States. This policy, however, did not include the Community interventions in a social structure. The concept of the regional policy appeared in the 30's of the twentieth century and it was used only at the state level. The cohesion policy for 2007–2013 has aimed at the increase of economic growth and employment in all regions and cities of the European Union. It has been implemented mainly by two structural funds, namely: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Social Fund (ESF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF).

In the perspective of 2007–2013 the differences between the legal bases for the operations of the European Regional Development Fund and the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund have been blurred. In November 2013, the European Parliament adopted a budget for 2014–2020. For the first time the multiannual financial framework for the EU will actually lower than the previous ones.

Modern woman in the labor market and her role in society

Women are conquering the world, they have access to education and take advantage of this situation: there are more female students than male ones in the European Union, more and more women begin to obtain managerial positions, more and more of them is willing to be active in politics, culture and most of all they aim at being independent, sharing their time between professional carrier and taking care of their homes’ well-being. Stereotype images of both men and women that we find in every-day life, influence in a negative way our behavior, life aspirations and goals, as well as a picture of ourselves.

Now, more women (65% of all) than men study at the universities and an average Polish man is less educated than an average Polish woman. In spite of that, the men earned in 2010 per person more by 15% than women. In 2012 only 12,2% management board members of the Polish stock exchange companies were women. In the world, only one out of ten top‑level managers was a woman.

European Economic and Social Committee claims that the increase of women’s activity on the job market is not only a matter of equality but a condition of the welfare of society and job creation in the European Union as well as the essential factor of the sustainable growth.

Despite the fact that the EU Embargo has no legally binding force, the export of all high technology weapons from UK companies to China will not be allowed by the Government’s arms export control of the UK.

To circumvent the UK arms export and so as to preserve their intellectual property, the companies of the UK would have to own their private subsidiaries in China. Nonverbal straightforwardness in creating the attitude of teacher as a nonspecific pedagogical factors

One of the most important nonspecific pedagogical factors is the attitude of a teacher which presents especially credibility, self-confidence, commanding sympathy and empathy as well as interpersonal and physical attractiveness. The use of nonverbal signals presenting nonverbal straightforwardness is helpful to demonstrate these attitudes. It is expressed by frequent smiling to students, maintaining the eye contact, using friendly gestures and variety of vocal signals (differentiation of voice, avoiding the monotony), leaning forward to the students, relaxed posture, using the touch, the personal space and physical factors of a classroom (e.g. equipment, seating arrangements). Teachers who use honest and frank gestures are perceived as a more efficient than teachers who prefer using nonverbal behavior showing less straightforwardness. Teachers using gestures of frankness are not only given more sympathy by patients but they are also perceived as a more authentic ones and having the ability to understand better the feelings and emotions of students.

University of the third age teachers in the years 1973–2011

The text is an attempt to present the peculiar group of teachers which comprises both of academic professionals , and community workers working for pleasure, often with out formal technical or pedagogic classifications. Their common aim is to involve in prolonging the educational process of the last phase of a man’s development – post-productive and post-professional stage of life. The author made an attempt to systematize the determinants outlining the transformations of the given group of teachers in the perspective of forty years. This is, however, a prospect of the entire closed history of Universities of the Third Age (U3A). In the face of developmental prospects of U3A in Poland it is essential to consider the future recruitment of academic teachers. One of important elements, and at the same time restrictions, there will probably be an idea of a system solution in Polish U3A. This will probably be a compilation of the French and British U3A models; therefore this text also includes an out line of both of these strategies relating to the prospect of demographic, transformations parallel to the increase in educational aspirations of senior citizens.

Election posters of “Citizens’ committee with Lech Wałęsa” candidates

The article solves the mystery of the “Citizens’ Committee with Lech Wałęsa” election posters that paved the way to the victory of Solidarity in June 1989. For 25 years the issue of posters has not raised any controversy. The historians presupposed that each member of the Committee had had an election poster with the leader of Solidarity movement on it. The article refutes that myth. Having analyzed historical documents and eyewitness memories, the author uncovers which candidates did not have this kind of poster.

Magdalena of Tarło Lubomirska (d. 1728). attempt to construct the biography

Construction of a woman’s biography, which preserved the memory of a person, is an arduous task because of lack of sources and it is never completed work. Biography of Magdalena Lubomirska could be based only on her written will, and not numerous correspondence of her mother Teresa Tarło and brother Jan Tarło. We even don't know the date of Magdalena's birth or the exact date of her death. The only document, the author of which is Magdalena, is her last will.

W sierpniu 2005 roku w Wolinie doszło do pierwszej sesji naukowej poświęconej zagadnieniom związanym z dziejami ludów zamieszkujących basen Morza Bałtyckiego.

Dnia 18 kwietnia 2013 roku w Toruniu miała miejsce I Konferencja Naukowa „Pamięć i Polityka Historyczna” pt. Pamięć o walce z totalitaryzmem i zniewoleniem. Poruszana podczas konferencji problematyka dotyczyła przede wszystkim pamięci o walce o wolność w obliczu totalitaryzmów i dyktatur oraz zagadnienia związane z indywidualnymi, rodzinnymi i lokalnymi aspektami pamięci. Drugi nurt istotny dla rozważań stanowiła kwestia praktycznego wykorzystywania narzędzia, jakim jest polityka historyczna, zwłaszcza w polskim wymiarze.rep
