A Robust Approach to Analyzing the Factors Influencing Quality Education in Indonesia

The main purpose of this study was to analyze factors that affect quality education in Indonesia. Although ordinary least square (OLS) regression is very popular in the analysis of the relationship between independent variables and dependent variablse, it is less than perfect when data are contaminated by outliers. Therefore, a robust approach is applied to face the problem of outliers due to its ability to down-weight the outlier influences. Results reveal that M-estimator of robust regression is better used to investigate the factors that influence the quality of education in Indonesia because it provides better accuracy.
