The aim of the study was to examine relationships between adolescents’ perfectionism and their parents’ parenting. The research method included the Parental Behaviour and Attitudes Questionnaire – ADOR (Matějček, Říčan, 1983), Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale – MPS (Frost et al., 1990) and Perfectionism Cognitions Inventory – PCI (Flett, Hewitt, Blankstein, Gray, 1998). The research sample consisted of 122 secondary school students aged 16 to 19 (average age 17.37 years), including 44 boys and 78 girls. The main findings of empirical analysis were that there are differences in the relationship between the father’s and mother’s influence on the development of some perfectionism dimensions in their children. The dimensions Concern over Mistakes and Doubts over Action showed a negative significant relationship with the father’s Positive Interest (r = – 0.25**). The relationship was not confirmed in mothers. Concern over Mistakes and Doubts over Action showed a weak significant relationship with Hostility in the father (0.21*) as well as mother (0.25**), and also a moderate relationship with the father’s as well as mother’s Inconsistency (r = 0.25**, r = 0.33**). The dimension Organization showed no relationship with the father’s parenting. In the mother’s parenting, a moderate relationship appeared between Organization and Positive Interest (0.35**).

The aim of this work is an evaluation of the relation between risk behaviour of adolescents (bad eating habits, sedentary behaviour and abuse of psychoactive substances and stimulants) and fulfilling pro-health recommendations related with physical activity. The survey study was conducted in 2016 in Warsaw middle and high schools among 609 students using standardised international tools. World Health Organisation recommendations concerning pro-health physical activity level are met only by 24.2% of surveyed teenagers. Physical activity is a factor protecting teenagers from sitting for over 2 hours a day and bad eating habits. Prophylactic programs should consider promotion of physical activity.

Through a qualitative research carried out in South-East Italy with twelve Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) this paper attempts to explore their relation with the Internet and digital media. Findings reveal that digital tools facilitate communication and socialization and allow UASC to maintain relationships with social networks in their countries of origin as well as expand their networks in the country of residence within the migrant community. Digital media enhance access to information and leisure activities. Even if UASC recognize some risks of being online similar to those European adolescents face, it emerges that overall the Internet and digital media contribute to their wellbeing. They have the power to boost resilience vis-à-vis the challenges UASC face in their lives: being alone, in a new country, often institutionalized and without the support of a trustworthy adult figure.

The aim of this study was to test the hypothesis of the impact of drama therapy on self-awareness of the role of the body among the intellectually disabled. In particular, it was intended to examine the effects of drama therapy involving improvisation on adolescents with moderate intellectual disability. The study is focused on assessing their levels of selfawareness of the role of the body in interpersonal relationships. The instrument used for the purpose of this study was designed by the author. It consists of a ”Body in action” test, which comprises 16 questions examining the level of self-evaluation of non-verbal behaviours in social interactions. The subjects were administered the test before and after a series of drama therapy workshops. Results indicate the connection between participation in drama therapy workshops based on improvisation and an increased level of the participants’ self-awareness of the role of the body in interpersonal relationships. At this stage of research, however, the conclusions cannot be extended to the whole age-group of the intellectually disabled. This study constitutes a starting point for further exploration of this issue. It outlines a direction, since, based on the results obtained, it can be stated that non-verbal communication plays a significant role in the development of social competences.

Results of some research performed in Poland have evidenced a relation between the aggressive behaviour of adolescents and the parental attitude perceived by them as improper. According to the results of the earlier studies of authors, significant differences were observed between the levels of aggression manifested by girls and boys and in certain dimensions the aggression of adolescent girls was higher than that of boys. Recently study was undertaken to check the stability of differences related to the sex and aggressive behaviour of adolescents. The research was conducted twice. First in the year 2002 (stage I) and again after 10 years in 2013 (stage II). The data for analysis were collected in the Questionnaire of Perception of Parental Attitudes composed by Plopa and the Questionnaire on Aggressive Behaviour prepared by Wójcik. At the stage I the subjects were 86 young people (56 girls and 30 boys) aged 17 – 19, and in stage II, in 2013, the subjects of the study were 80 adolescents (40 girls and 40 boys) aged 17 – 19. The comparative analysis of the results from 2002 and 2013 has shown a limited stability of relation between the perception of parental attitudes as improper and aggressive behavior of adolescents as well as sexual differentiations of aggressive behavior.

The Influence of Social and Psychological Actiity of a Teenage Club on the Personal Identification Development of Teenagers
The article considers the influence of the socio-psychological activities of the teen club by interests on the development of personal identification of teenagers. Personal identification plays an important role in the process of interaction between a psychologist, a teacher and a pupil, thus stimulating psycho-corrective changes. In this paper, we consider it appropriate to highlight and explore the impact of the club forms of work on the development of personal identification in the process of social and psychological activities. It is pointed out that there are hundreds of teen clubs that operate at the national, regional and local levels and implement a large number of different programs of socially significant direction in Ukraine nowadays. It has been proved that an important place in the system of education of the younger generation belongs to clubs. They are the social institutions that are designed to organize leisure time not only for adults and promote the diverse development of the growing individual. Therefore, all the activities of the club by interests consist of two interrelated parts such as purposeful educational, educational and organizational activities of employees and actve particpants of the club and leisure activities of adolescents. The study of personal identification of adolescents is based on theoretical analysis of existing research, which reveals a field of relevant aspects for further study, namely educational work with adolescents, social and cultural determinism, the connection with the experience of negative affect.

This paper focuses on the question whether the perceived distance between the low status of the school that is attended by the pupils, the high ambitions of these pupils, and the feasibility of achieving these goals could lead to the total evaporation of any motivation to do well at school. Is educational success of pupils in the lowest level of secondary education hampered by the realization that one’s chances to reach a highly respected social position are very limited? In this article, we, firstly, study how adolescents evaluate people in distinctive social positions and to what extent they are aware of status distinctions. Secondly, what are the expectations and ambitions of youngsters and how do they describe their own characteristics when asked to respond to questions, such as “who are you?” and “where do you locate yourself in society?”. Thirdly, we analyze their views on society, their self-images and career expectations. We want to investigate whether these images and projections differ in correlation with their level and type of education.

The presented study is aimed to investigate the mediating effect of problem-focused strategy on the relationship between personality traits and state anxiety. Three hundred and seventy five Iranian high school students were selected using the random cluster sampling method. The instruments used were the personality inventory NEO-FFI-3, the coping inventory and the state anxiety scale. Results of the structural model showed that problem-focused partially mediated the paths between E and SA, and N and SA. The findings suggest personality traits and coping strategy selections as significant predictors of state anxiety.

The study aims to investigate relationships between various dimensions of locus of control and hope for success. 495 secondary school students aged 14 to 16 (Mage = 15.54, SD = 0.53) were surveyed. Hope for success was measured using Łaguna et al.’s Questionnaire of Hope for Success. Locus of control was assessed using the Questionnaire of Locus of Control. The results indicate that the two variables are interrelated. The present findings can be used in designing educational activities to support secondary school students’ sense of agency.

In our research the quality of life is always used in connection with health, and we consider it as concomitant of harmonious social adaptation. The subjective experience of quality of life is awareness of life, well-being, comfort, which may equally refer to the cognitive side, to how much one is satisfied with his/her life, as well as to the affective side, which can be measured by the frequency of experienced positive emotional states, by how often one is happy, contented. The perceived quality of life could be defined depending on more factors and it is related to health behaviour and the success of adaptation. The present research analyses to what extent satisfaction with life, attitude to future, sense of control, relationship with parents/friends, contentment with achievement, effectiveness of self-realization and psycho-somatic well-being affect the quality of life of adolescents living in different geographical, socio-cultural milieus. We consider our hypothesis justified, according to which the contemporary adolescents are not characterized by positive awareness of life, and this negatively affects the past-present-future integration, mostly the attitude towards future, the struggle for inner control, the psycho-somatic functioning, in all the adolescents’ quality of life. The examined adolescents more or less possess the inner and outer (psychic) conditions for harmonious adaptation, if they choose values that really constitute the basis for a healthy way of life, but we should not forget those endangered adolescents who in case of the absence of proper intervention may struggle with adaptation problems, or may become deviant. The development of school mental hygiene, the introduction of proper preventive programmes is therefore vital for them.
