Food constitutes the basic human need. Changes in the modern world indicate that the problem of food security will steadily grow in importance in the future. The key question is therefore how to provide it, how to governance it in a dynamically changing world under the globalization processes. The article deals with the problem of global governance of food security. Its main assumption is that the globalization processes create the qualitatively new environment of food security global governance. The analysis permits three conclusions. First, as a consequence of the globalization processes, the way food security is perceived has changed while the problem itself becomes complex and multi-dimensional, which increases demand for new forms of its governance. Second, under the influence of the globalization processes, the responsibility for ensuring food security extends over an increasingly large group of actors and requires coordinated actions taking an increasingly broad group of so-called stakeholders into consideration. Third, globalization processes stimulate the formulation and development of paradigms and strategies for food security, offering an ‘infrastructure’ and creating their intellectual foundation as in the case of the free-market model, as well as offering an ‘infrastructure’ and being the point of reference, in opposition to which alternative proposals are developed, such as food self-sufficiency and food sovereignty

The article aims to analyze food security from the perspective of international security studies. Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in February 2022 has generated renewed interest in food security. The undeniable links between war and famine have taken on an added dimension in this conflict due to the importance of both warring parties to the global food market. While the way food security is conceptualized points to its indirect relationship with international security, the change that took place in the study of international security after the Cold War recognized socio-economic problems as equivalent of threats to the national security. The analysis allowed the following conclusions. First, food security should be treated as a new research area of international security because it challenges the stability of the global socio-economic system. Second, as the 2008 and 2010–2011 food crises, the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s aggression against Ukraine have shown, food insecurity generates threats to international security.

Analysis of the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on the security of global food supply chains
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict resulted in the transformation of modern logistics networks and supply chains to adapt to the challenges faced. This fact is particularly noticeable in the agricultural sector. Bottlenecks in the flow of raw materials have caused a global food crisis. Therefore, solutions are constantly being sought to minimize the negative effects of war, including: through the organization of solidarity corridors, as well as causing reductions in food prices. The research problem was formulated as a question: How do projects undertaken by the EU to eliminate the negative effects of war in the food supply chain sector affect their security? Additionally, a study was carried out to determine whether the actions undertaken were consistent with the adopted “farm to fork” strategy. The analysis carried out made it possible to identify the effects of the Russian invasion of Ukraine from the perspective of the global food market, along with presenting and assessing the actions taken as a result of the crisis in global food supply chains. The research conducted showed that as a result of disruptions in the functioning of global supply chains, food prices increased by approximately 34% in the first period of the conflict (March 2022). Currently, after introducing, among others, solidarity corridors, their growth is recorded at the level of 6.4%, by increasing the security of the flow of goods.
