Methodology of historical-military research in the modern era. Selected issues
The article focuses on selected issues relating to the methodology of military historical research of the modern era. The considerations revolve around the way in which this research is framed today, based on previous findings, with particular attention to gaps in the study of particular military actions, weapons, logistics, etc. This has been highlighted at the various Forums of Military Historians since the first meeting in 1994.

Activities of the Ukrainian Military-Sanitary Mission in Czechoslovakia (1919–first half of 1920)
The article presents the main areas of activity of the Czechoslovak branch of the Ukrainian Military-Sanitary Mission in Czechoslovakia (from 1919 to the first half – first half of 1920). The arrival of the mission contributed to the rapid organisation of the repatriation process of Ukrainian prisoners of war in 1919. The arrival of the mission contributed to the rapid organisation of the repatriation of Ukrainian prisoners of war in 1919, both directly from Czechoslovakia and from large parts of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and Germany. Throughout 1919, the mission provided consular assistance to repatriates by issuing them with passports and repatriation documents. In addition, returnees who ended up in Czechoslovakia also received limited material assistance, which greatly facilitated the process of their return home. The closure of the Ukrainian borders, which was effected by the war and the occupation of part of the URL in the autumn and winter of 1919–1920, almost completely paralysed the repatriation process. In this situation, the Czechoslovak office was forced to open separate ‘transit’ camps for the reception and temporary stay in them of repatriates. In many respects, the humanitarian treatment of the Czechoslovak government of repatriates (both Ukrainians and representatives of other Slavic peoples) was a model for solving the problems of this category of persons on a state scale.

General Inspectorate of the UPR Army: Creation, institutionalisation, specifics of functioning (1920–1921)
The article reconstructs the process of creation and specifics of the activities of the Inspectorate (General Inspectorate) of the Army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1920–1921, which became one of the important steps on the way to creating the institutional foundations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the modern era and increasing the level of combat readiness of its units. In September 1921, the commander of the 3rd Iron Rifle Division, colonel-general Oleksandr Udovychenko, was appointed to the position of inspector general of the UNR Troops, who was well acquainted with all the difficulties that the Ukrainian military had to face. Based on the results of his inspections of the camps, O. Udovychenko prepared reports in which he highlighted the actual condition of the internees (combat conditions of the units, living conditions, provision of clothing and food, moral and psychological condition and mood of the soldiers, the intensity of cultural and educational work in their environment, etc.). These reports were addressed to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Minister of War, allowing them to understand the real situation in the internment camps, and accordingly take the necessary measures to normalize it. During the entire period of internment, the

The beginning of the Second World War on the pages of the Ukrainian emigration weekly “Ňđčçóá”
The article presents the preconditions, causes, and outbreak of the Second World War through the eyes of correspondents of the Ukrainian emigration weekly “Тризуб” [Tryzub], which was published in Paris by the State Centre of the Ukrainian People’s Republic (the UPR Government in exile) in 1925–1940 and reflected its position, albeit unofficially. The article recreates a retrospective of the events leading up to the outbreak of the new world war from the perspective of the part of the emigration that recognised the UPR as the only legitimate Ukrainian statehood and shows their vision of how the war would affect Ukraine and the prospects for restoring its independence and potential role on the international stage during these tumultuous events.

The submarine ORP “Sęp” in Polish military historiography
The last one adopted before 1939 for service in the Polish Navy, most often appears as a twin ship of the legendary ORP “Orzeł”. The war history of ORP “Sęp” was short, covering only a few days of the Polish campaign. Interned in Sweden, the ship lived to see the end of World War II there. He returned to Poland together with his commanding officer – lieutenant commander Władysław Salamon. He served in the Polish Navy until 1969. Its history is hidden in the shadows, not receiving the proper attention from historians.
