The article presents the entitled fields in the framework of their mutual influence. The notion of the public sphere is valuable for understanding the role that civil society plays in transitional justice processes. However transitional justice often reduces the idea of civil society to NGOs and ignores the social movements and civic engagement in the public realm that can be perceived as integral to the creation of new cases for understanding justice in transition. This fact results in the lack of perception of the civil society place in transitional justice processes. Thus the presented paper is based on hermeneutics, critical discourse analysis and dialogue between various theoretical approaches.

W artykule zostały zawarte obszerne fragmenty analizy kapitału społecznego opracowanej dla burmistrza Lubska. Autor przedstawia także założenia koncepcji edukacji międzykulturowej adresowanej do społeczeństwa małego miasta. Celem autora jest zainicjowanie dyskusji nad formami współpracy między przedstawicielami władz samorządowych i środowiskiem akademickim w dziedzinie projektowania i realizowania koncepcji edukacji międzykulturowej. Przedstawiony dokument zawiera sugestie działań władz miasta, instytucji samorządowych i organizacji społecznych, na zasadach współpracy międzypokoleniowej.

Three spheres of privacy. Public and private in  contemporary legal system and social theory

The protection of privacy embraces three areas: physical integrity, information autonomy and protection of family life. All these spheres, distinguished in law and jurisprudence, protect the human identity against public authorities and other people interferences. However, in all these spheres there can be observed new changes, appearing insocial life and lifestyle, which let us ask the questions about the scope and real need of privacy protection in contemporary world, where cultural norms and development of societies influence on concept of privacy and public sphere.

Tożsamość religijna w społeczeństwach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej ulega aktualnie silnym przemianom związanym zarówno z konsekwencjami transformacji systemowej, zmianami kulturowymi, jak i przemianami wewnątrz Kościołów. W nowych demokratycznych warunkach w państwach takich jak Polska, Słowacja i Ukraina tożsamość religijna staje się także jedną z tożsamości zbiorowych manifestowanych w sferze publicznej i istotnych nie tylko w kontekście dyskursu publicznego, ale także w kontekstach lokalnych, tj. tożsamości lokalnej i tożsamości miejsca. Autorka przedstawia w artykule refleksje dotyczące znaczeń religijnej tożsamości zbiorowej w lokalnej przestrzeni publicznej. Są to spostrzeżenia wyłaniające się z prowadzonych badań jakościowych. Zarysowują się tutaj trzy istotne konteksty znaczeń tożsamości religijnej w lokalnej przestrzeni życia publicznego: 1) specyfika roli religijności i religii w życiu publicznym w tej części Europy, 2) kulturowe i instytucjonalne znaczenia identyfikacji religijnej w odniesieniu do tożsamości lokalnej i tożsamości miejsca, 3) problematyka narracji wokół wieloreligijnego dziedzictwa sakralnego w społecznościach lokalnych, która wprowadza nowy sposób percepcji religijnej tożsamości jako kulturowego zasobu związanego z miejscem i pamięcią.

As both the European Union and its member states acknowledge that the proliferation of fake news threatens their political stability and – consequently – the general idea of European integration – they have undertaken many steps to confront that problem. Them, the article examines how EU institutions, together with the member states, have tackled the spread of disinformation within the common policy of cybersecurity. The novelty of this study is that it does so concerning the ongoing process of Europeanization of cyberspace, combining the field of information technology with European studies.

My paper aims to sketch the current condition as well as main challenges of the Polish feminist movement after 1989. It focuses on how gender and women’s issues are approached and conceptualised in Poland today. The paper is enriched by a short outline of history of Polish women struggle for equal rights in especially political and economic dimensions. Importance of commemoration and acknowledgment of history of Polish women struggle is seen as crucial to post-1989 Polish reality in which terms such as democracy, freedom, equality, justice had to be re-invented/re-defined.

Mass culture – active consumers, passive citizens? Implications in the public sphere

The research problem brought up by the author of the present article is the activity vs passivity of citizens of mass culture in the widely understood context. The technological progress, globalizational processes, the unification and creation of needs, the appearance of new media, a bias in favour of success and prestige, the broadely defineded consumerism are only a few of the factors which contribute to break off the relationships with space and time. They cause, inter alia, the standardization of transmissions and distorting reality. These phenomena are an inherent part of the mass culture, its positive and negative implications in the public sphere.

“Femina oeconomica”, or the Apotheoretical Presence of Women in Economics

The present study deals with the problem of apparent absence of women from socioeconomic processes as well as from the related theoretical and methodological reflections within the field of economics. The article points to the fact that gender-related ideas as well as their relevance for women’s activity in the public sphere are central to undertaking issues of women participation in economy. It does so from the perspective of such trends of scholarly reflection as feminine economics as well as the more emancipation-oriented and inequality-centred feminist economics.
